Letter from the Founder

 The History of Dueling Creek

Learn about this area of Colmar Manor, Maryland and its amazing Dueling Grounds.

              VISION

Dueling Creek Academy of Leadership in Environmental Science and Fine Arts will work to educate the global community through children as educators.  This organization will educate and inspire inner city youth to take ownership of their community through learning to become leaders as environmental stewards.  We will change the trajectory of our nation by graduating students who are bilingual pioneers that will be our leaders of tomorrow in environmental education and fine arts. We will work to progressively change how we look at our environment, education, and the arts.

2012 Leadership Cohort

 Global Champions leadership cohort identifies students with leadership potential and works to educate them on how to become ambassadors of the environment and the arts.  These selected students will work as educators to teach environmental science and fine arts curriculum to elementary school children.  This cohort is open to incoming 10th-12th grade students.

2012 Eco-Loco Summer Workshop

Eco-Loco is a summer program for children in second through fifth grade. Children living near Northeast, DC, Brentwood, Mount Rainier, Cottage City, Colmar Manor of Maryland may apply.  The summer program will consist of several components that involves learning about the environment through the arts, physical movement (i.e. Tai Chi, Yoga), and Field studies (i.e. nature walks, etc.).  Additionally, a language and nutritional component will be added. Students will learn to build their leadership skills by becoming environmental stewards for their community.
